Thailand Elite Visa (Thailand Privilege): Benefits, Fees and How to Apply

Thailand Elite Visa

Key takeaways

  • Thailand Elite is now called Thailand Privilege; memberships give a Privilege Entry Visa for 5 to 20 years.
  • Memberships start at THB 650,000 for five years.
  • You apply online, and approval usually takes about one to three months.
  • Other long-stay options include the Destination Thailand Visa (THB 10,000 for five years) and the retirement visa for people aged 50 and over.

For Years, Thailand has constantly attracted visitors from around the world as it offers travelers a perfect vacation spot filled with fun, excitement, shopping, exploring new places, and adventure.

Until a few years ago, applying for an entry permit visa into Thailand was a cumbersome task as documents had to be dropped off in the mail or in person as per the Thailand visa Requirements. These days, however, applying for a stickerless e-visa can be done more quickly, and travelers from the US, UK, and many other countries can travel to Thailand without a visa as well!

As the sticker-less e-visa facility and the visa exception for travelers are for tourism purposes, these perks are not valid for multiple-entry and long-stay visas. To ease the lives of businessmen, highly skilled professionals, retired foreigners, and affluent global citizens, in the year 2022, a new facility of Thailand Elite Visas was introduced, with a quick acceptance and a membership fee.

Let’s take a look at a few of the benefits of the Thai Elite Visa, the requirements, and how to apply for the Thailand Elite Visa to get accepted for long stays in Thailand.

Thailand Elite Visa Perks

  • The Thailand Elite Visa is also known commonly as the Privilege Entry Visa, which is a long stay option of 5, 10, or 20 years to eligible applicants.
  • This 5-year visa can be renewed multiple times and also extended for an additional 1 year from the final term of stay but can also offer multiple entries as well as an uninterrupted stay in the Thai Kingdom.
  • This special travel visa is exempt from the normal rule of mandatorily leaving the country within 90 days of entry and is ideal for working professionals, retirees, and businessmen who wish to make Thailand their base.
  • Membership holders of the Thailand Elite Visa will be represented by a designated Thai elite partner on the 3rd month of their stay to ensure a smooth report of stay to the immigration experience. This in turn, ensures that the membership holder is not reported as he has overstayed in the country, and his record of travel stays clean and free of any immigration issues.
  • Applicants who have purchased a membership for this special visa also receive quicker immigration formalities as well as faster processing of their travel documents such as passports among others.

1. While in Thailand: The Head Immigration Department in Bangkok is where your visa can be attached. Member services will set up an appointment for you and work with you to complete the task. You should plan to spend an hour or so at the immigration office.

2. If you are traveling from outside Thailand, please let us know the specifics of your incoming flight at least 5 days prior to your scheduled arrival date. You will be expedited through immigration and given a visa at the airport by Elite Member Services.
